India joining the Hague Convention in 2005 has abolished the need for legalization of Foreign Documents with the other 105 member Countries of ‘The Hague Convention’.

The Consular Passport and Visa (CPV) Division Overseas Indian Cell (O.I cell ) of Ministry of External Affairs ,Govt. of India provides a Certification under the Hague Convention of 1961 namely Apostille which is aFrench name . An Apostille is a certificate that is attached to a another document so that it can be accepted by the ‘HAGUE Countries’
